Oulton Broad provides the perfect base for exploring the region whether your journey is by land or water.

As the southern gateway to the Broads National Park, Oulton Broad presents the opportunity for water and land lovers to indulge and enjoy one of the regions highlights.

Events in Oulton Broad include Powerboat Racing, Brass band concerts and the East Anglia Dragon Boat festival.

Nicholas Everitt Park provides one of the most spectacular views over the broad. The park is one of the most popular areas around The Sunrise Coast. With brass band concerts, artist displays, powerboat racing and garden fetes the park provides a wide mixture of events to suit the entire family.

Deep into the park you will be able to explore the Broad House Museum, which presents 1000 years of local history including the famous Lowestoft Porcelain.

Oulton Broad is also home to a number of distinctive landmarks including Mutford Lock, an operational water lock dividing salt water and fresh water. Visitors to the area will often get the chance to view the lock in full operation.

With more than 100 acres of grazing march and fen, Carlton Marshes nature reserve creates a haven for many different species of wildlife, plants and insects, making it an ideal location for nature lovers and walkers.

Oulton Broad is easily accessible by public transport with two railway stations connecting to London and with regular services to Lowestoft, Norwich and Ipswich making the ideal opportunity to leave the car at home.
