NorfolkBroads.com was founded in the spring of 1997 in Portland, Oregon USA by James Clabburn. James was working on the West Coast of the United States, and had strong connections with the ongoing development of the Internet.

It was foreseen that the principal issue facing all smaller websites is that of being readily found on the Internet, and it was envisaged that specialist and regionally focused Directories would meet this requirement. A number of domain names were purchased as above, with a view to creating a directory and resource web site for the East Anglia region of the United Kingdom.

In the summer of 1998, www.norfolkbroads.com was born and began promoting business, travel and tourism in East Anglia. The principal revenue stream is obtained from small business Internet Links and advertising within the Directory. The company has experienced significant growth in the last 6 years, and is now the No.1 'A to Z' Webguide for East Anglia. NorfolkBroads.com's offices are based near Norwich, Norfolk.
