About Thorpeness Holiday Cottage.
Our home is a 3 bedroom cottage, which was once home to one of the Estate Workers who were
employed to assist in the construction of the village of Thorpeness, under the direction of Glencairn Stuart OgilvieIt is located through an archway on a private road in a quiet part of the village, and allows very easy access on foot to the beach, local pub, shop, Country Club, Meare boating lake and Golf Club
The towns of Aldeburgh, Leiston and Sizewell; the RSPB reserve at Minsmere; and the small village of Snape, home to the world-renowned Aldeburgh Music Festival at Snape Maltings concert hall, are a short car journey away.
As a family, we have been enjoying holidays at Thorpeness for over 40 years. Our home has recently undergone a complete refurbishment and we are pleased to be able to offer it to potential renters seeking a luxuriously equipped holiday home in which to enjoy a relaxing break on the beautiful Suffolk Coast.
The cottage has recently been completely refurbished and now offers a large modern kitchen/diner, with Neff appliances; patio doors opening onto a large paved patio; a shower room downstairs; two comfortable lounge areas - one, off the kitchen/diner, with a woodburner, and the other, across the hallway, with a sofabed, flat screen TV, with Sky FreeSat and a DVD player; two king-bedded bedrooms; one bedroom with bunk beds for children (these beds are shorter than standard length, so only suitable for children up to approximately 13 years of age); and a family bathroom upstairs.
The cottage is our holiday home beside the sea and, as such, has been furnished and equipped to a very high standard, complete with the many extras we expect to find in our own homes. Also, we provide luxurious duvets & pillows; cotton bed linen for all beds; towels for the bathroom & shower room; beach towels; and cloths/tea towels for the kitchen, so there is no need for you to bring your own household items. If you want to keep in touch with the rest of the world during your stay, we provide wireless internet access and an honesty telephone.
Outside, the rear garden is fully enclosed and therefore safe for small children. There is a large patio, complete with furniture and a gas barbecue.
Guests have the use of a lockable shed to store bicycles and other outdoor items. There is ample off-road parking for 3 cars on the driveway, a precious commodity in the busy summer months.
