Food is an integral part of The Bildeston Crown experience and so we want you, not only to enjoy what you eat with us today, but to leave feeling that you want to come back another day for more.

We are passionate about good food. This means quality produce, sourced locally whenever possible, and used when in season to get the best results.

Lunch is served in Classics between 12:00 & 14.45 Monday to Sunday and in Ingrams 12.00 & 14.30 Monday to Saturday

Dinner is served between 19:00 & 21.45 Monday to Saturday and 19:00 & 21:00 Sunday
We have two dining options and our menus are designed to reflect the differing needs and tastes of our clients:

The 30-seater dining room which showcases the creativity and talents of Head Chef Zack Deakins and the reason behind why the Suffolk inn has held AA 3 rosettes since 2007.

Ingrams features:

Crown Select - This menu selection is the real showcase for the skills of our chefs and quality of the produce used.

Tasting Menu – Perhaps the ultimate dining experience. Our eight course Tasting Menu is carefully designed to offer a balanced progression of flavours which reflects food at its very best

Ingrams has its own lounge and is available for private hire in its entirety.

This is our more casual dining option featuring:
Crown Classics – Traditional British dishes, brought up to date with modern takes on old favourites
Set Lunch Menu – Excellent midweek value with a choice of regularly changing dishes

Zack Deakins is to be the new Head Chef at The Bildeston Crown, taking over from Chris Lee who has run the kitchens for almost ten years.

Guests, however, will be forgiven, if both Zack and his food appear familiar. Although for the last 18 months, Zack has been head chef at Le Talbooth, prior to that he spent 3 years as Chris Lee’s senior sous chef. Before settling in Suffolk, Zack was a chef at Restaurant Martin Wishart, Edinburgh’s first Michelin-starred restaurant and so he has the perfect credentials for taking over at the AA3 rosettes restaurant/hotel.

The opportunity for Zack’s return came when Chris Lee and his wife Hayley decided that it was time for a new challenge, working with a consortium of investors rolling out a number of pubs in the region. Owner, local farmer and businessman, James Buckle is the first to recognise how important Chris Lee has been to
The Bildeston Crown but is very optimistic about the opportunities a change at the top will bring: “Of course we are sad to see Chris and Hayley go. After 10 years they are quite simply family and as such, we have to appreciate their decision and the need for a new challenge. We wish them all the very best in the new enterprise.”

In welcoming Zack back to The Bildeston Crown, James is equally emotional: “Zack is Chris’s natural successor. He always was. The only difference is that he now takes on the role having had the experience and responsibility of being a head chef. Zack knows the team, the culture, the values – in fact everything that makes The Bildeston Crown special. He is taking over at a very positive time and I am very excited about having him on board and watching him build on the achievements of the past but at the same time, very much making his own stamp on the business
