About The Great House Hotel and Restaurant

The Great House is home to one of the best restaurants in the East of England and offers a unique French dining experience both at lunch and dinner time. Soak up an historic atmosphere whilst dining under exposed beams, and slanted walls in this quaint 18th century building located in the heart of Lavenham.

Every menu is composed of local, seasonal ingredients with each dish created as a visually stunning masterpiece which boost exquisite flavours. From their set three-course lunch through to their five-course experience dinner, every meal is created with you in mind with dietary requirements also catered for by our award-winning chefs. With the five-course dinner menu, every meal is brought to your table as a surprise and will often leave guests tasting ingredients they have not tried before. A return visit will also see that you can explore new dishes, with dishes on their menu changing daily.

Enjoy a glass Great House Champagne outside on the terrace and make the most of when the warmer weather is sunning. You can even opt to have your breakfast dining alfresco!

You can also take a home a piece of The Great House with their exceptional collection of homemade jams and chutneys available that perfectly with a slice of toast or heavenly cheese board.
