About The Britten Shopping Centre
The name 'Britten' comes from local boy Benjamin Britten, who became known as the world's best composer.
The Britten Shopping Centre comprises nineteen retailers, grouped under a barrel-vaulted Victorian style roof, on an area long known to as ‘the prairie’.
A 330 space multi-storey car park, the town Library, the main Bus Station are all on our doorstep and all major amenities are nearby.
We have been serving the local community since 1987, and pride ourselves on our customer service team. Our aim is to provide you with a safe and enjoyable shopping experience in the heart of Lowestoft’s main shopping area.
The permanent covered market area at the rear of the Britten Shopping Centre adds another dimension to your shopping experience, with a range of stalls offering those unbeatable market deals.
The Britten Shopping Centre is open every day.
We open at 9:00am and close at 5:30pm Monday to Saturday, and from 10.00am to 4.00pm on Sundays. (Not all stores open on Sundays)
