About Suffolk Water Park - Fishing Lakes

Suffolk Water Park is a privately owned day ticket fishery, located just a couple of miles north-west of Ipswich, Suffolk.

A former quarry works, the fishery has been carefully developed over the past seven years by proprietor Peter Clapperton. The result is a magnificent site, offering some of the very best fishing in the area.

We cater for anglers of all abilities, and offer professional teaching for absolute beginners of any age.

The bait shop is open from 7:00am every day, and is located next to the cafe.

Our well stocked bait shop offers an extensive range of products We also have maggots and casters.

We normally have deadbait available during the pike season but please note: Strictly no live bait.

We have 6 lakes available for pleasure fishing. These lakes contain a wide variety of fish including roach, rudd, perch, tench, carp, eels, bream and skimmers.

Traditional Lake
We have a traditional lake of 5½ acres, which holds many carp to low 20's and also can produces specimen double figure bream and tench. It also holds various other species such as roach, rudd, perch and eels. Night fishing is available prior to regestering and booking.

Match lake one which is the main match water with lots of carp to 20lbs and a big head of skimmers tench and other silvers. With bream reaching double figures and tench up to 7-8 lbs. Also perch have been caught to excess of 3-4 lbs.

Match lake Two hold some carp to double figures and a big head of skimmers, roach and rudd with also some bonus perch and tench to be had.

Match lake 3 ( the doughnut ) round and small in size with an island in the middle this holds small carp up to 1-2lbs and skimmers and many tench to around 5-6 lbs it also has an abundance of roach, rudd to 2-3lbs and perch reaching 2lbs plus. This lake also holds some crusian carp up to 2-3 lbs.

Canal this lake is manly a silvers water which holds roach, rudd to 2lbs skimmers, perch and many tench.

Training lakes one and two both hold lots of roach, rudd and perch perfect for a beggining angler/ young children to keep the occupied catching consistantly. With also some skimmers, gudgeon, tench and small carp to add a surprise.
